Dairy Farm Tours

At work because there are some of us newbies who don't know much about dairy farming, we got to tour a couple farms and learn about how things are done! My favorite part was seeing all the calves.... soooo cute!

Lundbom Camping Trip - Thursday

We are heading off to Lundbom lake just outside of Merritt for the family camping trip... Brian was so organized and got everything all packed and ready to go for the whole week before we even left!
We attempted to get out of town early... at 2:30 we were in the SaveOn parking lot getting ice for the cooler...by 5pm we were in Hope... haha... sloooow go...
On our way to Lundbom... traffic jam!
This was one of the many lakes at Lundbom... totally amazing color!
Brian and I set up camp away from the family who were parked on the beach. It was so windy and there was minimal cover so we found a spot we liked better!
Brian setting up his new tent that I bought him for his birthday!
Tag wasn't to sure what to think of this whole camping idea...
Brian with his truck... I like this pic! :)

Lundbom Camping Trip - Friday

Declan with Iggy... he was so excited about the "puppy"
The road up to our campsite... there were 2 ways to get to where the family was camping on the beach... by road or by a very steep trail up the side of the mountain. I have to say I definitely got my exercise on this trip.
Wild Flowers along the road

Breakfast... because the wind was so bad, our eggs ended up broken and I made scrambled eggs with the whole dozen... then we crumbled burnt bacon on top! Haha... yum yum
Elliott and I went fishing in the belly boats! He gave me an excellent lesson on the basics and off we went! I sure felt goofy in the gear!
Me and Auntie Betty before heading out on the water...
My first time out on the belly boat... it was so windy!
Aaron went out fishing with Uncle Donald... U.Donald caught the fish that Aaron is holding up... wish I caught one too!!!
Elliott and I after our fishing adventure. I caught one fish that got away because my fly wasn't tied tight enough (my fault).

Lundbom Camping Trip - Friday Afternoon

Brian and I went off shooting as we were on Crown Land and were able to do so. The ranger had told Brian of some good places to go the day before. Brian stuck some targets (sheets of paper) on the trees for us to shoot at.
When putting up the targets, Brian found a cow skull in the grass... we had to keep it, its going in our garden at home, how neat is that?!
Brian shooting his rifle
This was my target... 25 shots and I missed 2 times!!
Tag came with us and kept his distance, we are not sure whether or not he likes to be around for all the noise, but he sure is well behaved!
Here is me shooting the rifle... does it look like I know what I am doing??
Ground shots from the back of the truck... Tag sitting safely behind everything!
Me after having fired the Shotgun... Ouch! That thing sure does kick back!
Brian is obviously more skilled with the shotgun.... doesn't look like he is in pain like me!

Lundbom Camping Trip - Saturday

It was so neat to see little Declan take over walking such a big dog! He really liked Tag.
I am still surprised Declan got away with this... he was just laying there on Tag!

I went fishing again... still hoping to catch something! What a nice day and an awesome view!
My flippers... It was so relaxing and quiet on the belly boat, if my legs didn't get tired, I would have stayed out for hours!

More views from the water...

Dad made everyone one of his awesome beer waffle breakfasts... it was just as good at camp as it is when he makes them at home! Great job Dad!
Two goggle, googley eyed girls!
Auntie Betty's pot luck dinner was a huge success! We had so many great things to eat!

This was Tag hiding out of reach of the kids... he finally had enough of being poked, dragged, teased with a harmonica, etc and he refused to move from this spot for a long time!
"What are you doing Brian?" The girls had fun following Brian around asking him what he was doing at every step!
Brian and I at our new camp spot... we took over Dad and Jeanie's spot after they left as we had another family park next to us on our little Mountain Oasis... sigh...
Brian, Tag and the campfire...
