Merry Christmas
Our tree Christmas morning. I have to admit, I didn't take any pictures on Christmas other than the tree!! We had a fun day with gifts in the morning. Went over to John and Stefanie's to see them and the kids in the afternoon... the power was out at their house so they were unable to cook their turkey!! After we headed to Dad and Jeanie's for a Christmas Feast with the family! Jeanie did an amazing job of dinner, it was greatly enjoyed by all. I brought dessert... pictures are on my cupcake blog! www.cupcakesbyholly.blogspot.com

Staff Christmas Party
Today was my staff Christmas Party... it was not your typical staff Christmas Party, it was more of a kids ice skating party with pizza and Santa after, so Brian and I thought we would borrow a couple lucky nieces and nephews to join us!!

Christmas Ornament Cookies
Nadia is going to be leaving for India in a month now and is working away at earning money for the 3 month trip. She is going to have a booth at her Church Christmas Fair this Saturday so I am heading to her place tomorrow to help decorate cupcakes for her to sell. I have spent the last night and this evening working on Christmas Ornament cookies to donate to her booth to try and make a few extra dollars! They turned out pretty good... I posted more close ups on my cupcake blog.

First Haircut?!
Well... not really, but it was the first time I cut Brian's hair! He bought clippers thinking it would be a good idea to save money if I cut his hair! So, I loaded up a you tube video on how to do it and sat Brian in a chair...

I think I have a happy customer... not bad eh?! Who would have thought!?
Woodland Friends Birthday Cake for Sophie!
Tomorrow is Sophie's 1st Birthday party and I got to make her a birthday cake! I used the woodland friends finger puppets for my inspiration for the cake... it turned out pretty cute! There are lots more pictures on my cupcake blog if you want to see the in progress pictures when I was making it (took me 5.5 hrs this morning... and I baked the chocolate cake from scratch last night!)

Happy Birthday to Me...
Julie, Cali and Sophie had a little party for my birthday they day before on Monday which was super nice. I got to spend a little bit of time with Sophie while Julie picked up Cali from pre-school. I can't believe that was the first time i had any one on one time with her!! (took the above picture when I was watching her) My favorite part of the party was when Sophie said "Cheese" when we were smiling for the pictures!
Today, Mom and Elliott came out to Langley for dinner with Brian and I and we got take out from my favorite chinese restaurant and had a nice visit. Thanks to Brian for picking up the cake!
I heard from Dad, Katie sent an email from California and I got the cutest message (missed the call) from Declan when Aaron called to say happy birthday... Declan sang his version of happy birthday on the message, I loved it!
Ah, 33... not sure how I feel about it, its not a matter of getting older, I guess I just never really thought about where I wanted to be at this point in my life. But, so far, its turned out great... I have a great guy, great family, good job, going to school, I ran a half marathon this year... Dad reminded me 40 is just around the corner... yikes! Wierd how birthdays can make you think, reflect and all that...

A Night Away in Squamish
Brian and I decided to go away for a night in Squamish... kind of a nice birthday/anniversary get away for the both of us. Here are a few pictures from the side of the river where its popular to watch the bald eagles. Unfortunately I didn't have my big camera with me, there was no way I could get pictures of the eagles so far away with my cell camera, so I didn't bother trying!

Woodland Friends
I am sure almost everyone has seen these little guys by now since all the babies have been turning 1 year old over the last month and a bit. I was browsing through a craft selling website a while back and came across a very talented girl who makes finger puppets out of felt. I thought the woodland characters were so cute but I did not like the price attached, even though I understand the labor involved. Anyhow, I decided I could easily draw my own patterns and then sew my own puppets! I think they turned out pretty cute. Scarlett got the first batch, then Olivia... Sophie is about to turn 1 in a couple weeks so she is next, then Nadia's niece Rachel is going to get the 4th set. Hope you enjoy... I have already found my next project and have my patterns ready to go... coasters this time... its gonna be cool!
