On the our drive from Newport to Silver Falls State Park, there is a little town (more like street) called Chitwood and to get to it, you have to cross this covered bridge. It reminded me of the covered bridge from the movie Beetlejuice! Anyhow, it was really cool... we walked over it and it sure smelled like an old bridge too!

Silver Falls State Park
We went for a hike at Silver Falls State Park, it was amazing! There are 10 waterfalls at this park, we only had time (and energy) for 2 of the falls. We hiked to the South and North falls in the park (about 2 hours). The pictures just don't do the size of these falls justice.

Perfect Pizza
This was totally worth mentioning... After getting settled in our hotel after a small amount of shopping at Woodburn Company Stores Outlet, we needed to get some dinner. Brian wanted Pizza so we drove around looking for a place we recognized. We ended up finding a place called "Perfect Pizza" and decided to give it a try. We walked into the empty pizza place and ended up talking with the owner the whole time we waited for our pizza. The owner had actually traveled through Canada helping install Quizno's franchises 20 years earlier and was so excited to talk to us about all the places he had been. Anyhow, it was really fun and the pizza was delicious!

Ecola State Park
When we got up this morning, we were going to go for a hike at Tillimook Head Trail. Google maps gave us horrible directions and we never found the trail head. After giving up, we continued on down the Coast Highway and came upon Ecola State Park... It was amazing! Just look at the views!
| This beach was at another part of the park. We sat and watched the surfers, there were so many of them! |
Cheese Please...
We stopped at the Tillamook Cheese factory on our way to Newport. It was alot bigger and busier than I expected. You get to do a self guided tour through glass watching workers on assembly lines packaging cheese... I dont think I could do that job with people staring at me all day... that was kind of weird. They also gave free samples of the cheese which was delicious.
