Happy Halloween!

We dressed up at work thanks to Sandy who brought in costumes for all of us. We had a bit of a witch theme going...

Alison and her Broom!
Sandy who also brought in the awesome decorations!
I thought I looked more like Red Riding Hood....
Jackie at the Post Office had a killer costume, she was a sorcerer (am I spelling that right?)
Brian and I carved pumpkins for ourselves... of course we have no front door to hand out treats so we had to put the pumpkins on the deck in the back for our own viewing pleasure!
After we finished carving the pumpkins, Brian and I took Tag out for a walk around the neighborhood to check out the trick-or-treating goings on!

Hope everyone had a super spooky Halloween!

2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving

Everyone got together today at Julie's place to carve pumpkins for Halloween together! This is the 2nd year in a row we have done this and we had even more people than last year!

I got to help Sophie with her pumpkin... she loved pulling the pumpkin goo out of the pumpkin!

Have you ever seen so many pumpkins? Geez, I can't remember who they all belong to!!
L-R (Julie, Aaron, Chris, Mom, Cali, Stephanie, Lilah, Dad, Me & Sophie, Greg) Sorry if I made any mistakes!!

Happy Halloween!!

2nd Annual Halloween Cookies!

So Julie had a special request for Cali's pre-school Halloween Party... the same cool cookies I made for the kids last year. I agreed and said we could make the cookes together as they do take a really long time to complete! On Thursday night Julie came over and I got her making the cookies, cutting them out... I baked them and iced on all the black outlines. I think we spent about 3 hours... made just under 50 cookies with only 1 casualty right at the end (haha, oops... Julie dropped a ghost!).

Friday night Julie came back with Cali to help me start filling the cookies with flood icing. (the black outlines need a good 24hrs to dry to reduce color bleeding). Cali did awesome being patient and only watching for the 1.5 hrs it took to get this fun task done!

This morning I did a couple touch ups and put the finishing details on the bats... so super cute...

This evening I individually wrapped all the cookies and packed them up for delivery tomorrow to Julie... They turned out so awesome, I am sure the pre-school kids are going to love them!

Here are the cookies I snagged to share with a few other lucky people! I get some too right?! haha....

Bread, Bread and more Bread

I have been making alot of bread lately... Rich Egg Bread, it's so good! I think my favorite part is the braiding because it almost makes the bread like buns and it pulls apart so easy. Brian and I both agree its the best bread I have made yet! PS. I do not use bread makers, this is all by hand!!

Pumpkin Fun Run 6km Race

Nadia and I did the pumpkin fun run 6km race this morning at 9am. It was soooo foggy out! Still just as beautiful and just as hilly as last year, the exact same route! We both finished in 46 min and 16 seconds as we decided to run it together (which we haven't done since our first race!!).

Almost Halloween Ready...

I went to the garden today to check on my pumpkins... they are still mostly green! I think I will leave them for a bit longer before taking them home. I have 6 pumpkins all together!!

This big pumpkin was hiding on me... I found in in the middle of everything when I was  trying to find my squash!
