My Stagette!

Julie threw me an awesome Stagette! We had the perfect group and a mobile spa came to give us all pedicures and manicures while we drank wine and ate appies on the deck. Later we had a fire. It was really a great time, I can't say enough about it... got lots of pictures too (thanks Julie!!!)

Good friends help their friends move!

I came out early before my stagette to help Nadia move from Mission into here storage unit before she moves in with another friend in Abby. We started early and worked hard... this is lunch in the storage unit! I had to take off to do some wedding stuff at 1:30 but hey, I started at 8am and even brought breakfast!!!

Wedding Odds n' Ends

This weekend I spent getting as much wedding prep done as possible. This coming weekend is my last trip out to Abby before the wedding in July. I finished up all my signs and seating charts... shopped for napkins, etc. and decided I should take care of all the beverages this weekend also. The less I have to do before the wedding, the better! I did have to laugh though when I used a shopping cart in the liquor store for all the beer... first time I have done that! When I got home with my haul, Brian told me I didn't get enough so I had to go back and get more!

Guests of the furry kind...

Brian and I got to dog sit for Mom and Elliott when they were going to a party in Penticton a couple weeks ago. Pictures below of our furry guests! We have had alot of guests lately! Dad and Jeanie were able to come out and they brought my new desk... so happy about that! Nadia was able to come out last week too and help me with a bit of wedding stuff. Enjoy a few pictures below! I haven't been taking as much as I should lately but its been soooo busy!

My Wedding Favor Cookies

15 hours of work.... 76 unique cookies... done! Yes, I am crazy... I know this, but its such a neat thing to put on the tables for my own wedding! And yes, it is a little early, but I have discovered I have a lack of time with being back at work again and sugar cookies freeze very well!

Some good news and Voting day!

First... the good news! On Monday, Brian got the job he interviewed for last week here in town! 'Finally' is all I can say... so glad he will be leaving the current job!!!!!! Anyhow, its a good thing for us, normal hours for Brian, less stress, benefits, pension, job security... need I say more? Now if I could get in full time some where... haha

And... this one is for you Doug! Yes, we went and voted! (Proof above!)

Happy Mother's Day

I drove out to Abby for the night to surprise Mom at Julie's mother's day brunch! My cell died so I didn't get more pictures, but it was really nice to see everyone even for a quick visit! Kona had fun playing with the kids!

Is it summer already?

I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden we are in the middle of summer! It's supposed to be 30 degrees out all this week. Everything is blooming in the yard which is really cool because we have only seen things at our new house in the winter!

The Lilac bush Mom planted is flowering... but this is the nicest part... Kona ate the rest of it!

Our Apple tree is all of a sudden blooming... can't wait to see if these apples are any good!

It was a really hot day today... nice to sit in the shade with all ones toys under the apple tree!

Oh poor puppies...

I decided that we must buy a pool for the dogs so they have a way of cooling off in the hot week and months to come.  It was my mission to find a hard plastic pool... weirdly enough, it was pretty hard to find! But I found one, and it has a slide. I figured dual purpose, the dogs can use the pool and nieces and nephews who come to visit can enjoy it too.

It didn't take long to get them in the water... a little coaxing with tennis balls, but they got in!

Kona loved it... she is definitely a water dog.

Some much needed attention...

Brian put together the propane fire pit Mom bought us... we really enjoyed the instructions... this bag says "Put me in first". Its too bad we ran out of propane! We will have to test our new fire another night!

Whirl Wind Trip

Weddings are a lot of work! I had to take a quick trip down to Abbotsford... this time without Brian as his trip to Winnipeg went long, so I had to take both dogs with me too! When I arrived, it was Elliott's birthday so we had to go celebrate!

And the doggies are all together again... I think they all love being together even though Tag would tell you otherwise sometimes!

I got in a good visit with Sophie and Cali... we did some jumping on the trampoline and got in some sandbox time.

I was super excited to get little Scarlett in her flower girl dress... it looks so cute on her!

Lilah's dress fit perfectly too! Good thing Julie and I ignored Stephanie on the size! Haha.. we got her the next size up and it was the right decision!!

We had another birthday... Aaron turned 31 so I was lucky enough to be invited out with Dad, Jeanie, Aaron and the kids for Mexican!

Julie, Mom, Sophie, Cali and I had a big morning yesterday with everything bridal! We did my final fitting of my dress, bought all the jewelry to go with it(thanks Mom!) and then headed off to the mall where I was going to get my hair and makeup trial done! Here is me Cali and Sophie have a breakfast break!

Here is me at my hair and makeup trial... super fun to get all dolled up with no where to go! Cali really enjoyed watching the whole process. I think she is going to end up a lot more girly girl than her daddy would like. It was alot of fun having her there with me!

And this is as far as I will show... you don't get to see the end result till wedding day!

Nadia and I got a bunch of shopping done for napkins, plates, etc and after a discussion with Jeanie and walk around the back yard, we added a bunch more stuff at the rental place... oh boy! Anyone ever say cheap weddings are expensive? Haha... well, that was me... I just did! Ugh!!

Tux & Wedding Band

On Saturday I was finally able to get Brian out to do some of the wedding shopping we needed to do for him. We got his tux rented at Moore's (super happy that we can pick up and drop off any where... makes things easier) and got Ties and Shirts for the guys involved in the wedding...And... after 3 hours at the mall, we bought Brian's wedding band. We have looked before but hadn't found the right ring. The one he chose is just perfect... you will get to see it in just under 3 months now!

En Suite Update

After I had filled and painted the walls the first time in the en suite... I realized that I had done a horrible job and ended up having to sand everything down and start all over... Ugh... But! Wait till you see the end result, after another coat of paint, you would never know how bad it really was! These pictures are before the 2nd round of paint...

I love my carpet cleaner!

I really don't know what I would do without it now.... I have actually cleaned the carpets 2 times out of wanting to clean them and 2 times out of emergency. About 3 nights ago Kona thew up all over the bedroom floor and I was so thankful to have that carpet cleaner! And then last night... Tag, at almost 4am, had diarrhea on the floor in the bedroom. Ugh... Dogs are now sleeping in the kitchen but, my floors are clean because of my favorite new appliance, the carpet cleaner!

Too many projects

Brian finally has a few days off so yesterday we decided to go out, do some yard saling and then hit home depot to pick up a few things we needed for projects we are working on (En Suite, Ceiling Fan, Kitchen Faucet, etc). We ended up at Canadian Tire and they were selling 4ft cedars that were more like 6ft cedars for only $12 each. We couldn't pass it up! We bought 4 and when we got home realized, realistically we needed 7 more for complete privacy (in a few years after they grow) so we went back and got more! Oh, and I forgot to mention, some where in there we bought a lawnmower. Its amazing how many things you need when you buy a house! After a day of shopping yesterday, we didn't get much accomplished on the house. I am almost done fixing the en suite wall... (after a call to Dad, I realized the errors of my first attempt) and Brian got the lawn mower put together. Let's see where we get today!!

Wedding Invitations & Shower Thank Yous

Ok family, after much anticipation, the wedding invitations are going out in the mail today! Also, my Wedding Shower thank yous as well. Special thank you to my Mom who worked very hard with Brian and I to get everything put together... she also bought us the personalized stamps that I am sure you will notice when you get the invite.
