WE GOT A NEW BED!!!!

Oh what a thrilling moment when this truck pulled up outside our place! I have been complaining for 2 years now about how bad our bed is. After a couple tears (from me) Friday morning, Brian and I decided to go shopping Saturday morning for a new bed. We had a wonderful sales lady who found us the right bed, and helped us get it for cheaper by going with a demo model. We did pick a pricy bed, but going with the demo made it reasonable.
We had to take apart the old bed... it was kind of sad taking this frame apart for the last time... I have had it since my early 20s and bought it myself. As I am typing this the guy who is buying it walked by the window (sold in 5 hours online!)
Here is the new bed! It was huge in the store and still looks huge in our room... so tall!
And here it is all made up... I can't wait to sleep on it tonight!

Brian & Tag

I have been taking Tag on at least 2 walks per day since he moved in... Brian joined us tonight and had a fun time throwing the ball around with Tag

We had to laugh because Tag will normally flop down when he gets tired.... Brian kept him going and he got so tired he rolled on his back and on his side!

Bunnies!

These cute little bunnies are on all the trails I take Tag for walks on... this little guy actually let us get within 5 feet of him before running off. It is really hard to keep Tag from chasing every one of them he sees! Luckily they blend in most of the time.

Happy Birthday Brian!!

Brian is 34 today! So far he had to get up way too early for work (which means I am up even earlier, 4:30am ugh...) and then Mom and Elliott sung happy birthday to him while we were stuck in bridge traffic at 6:30am over his cell phone! Haha...
Brian didnt want to do anything much for his birthday so I said I would make him the meal of his choice.... we ended up with Ribs, Veggies, Mashed Potatoes and Chocolate cake for dessert!

Dog House!

Mom brought Tag's house over today, Thanks Mom! We definately need it as Brian and I are both back to work tomorrow and Tag needs shelter! Brian got the fencing up with minimal help from me... Tag hung around the whole time, I think he likes us working in the backyard so much.

Mom called to find out whether or not we got things completed... so here are the pictures Mom! Brian is not done yet, but the fence is up and the house is in the middle!

The Base of the Kennel is done!

Brian worked very hard today and finished the bottom of Tag's Kennel! I didn't have to touch a single stone (well, I wasn't allowed!).

It sort of looks like Tag is inspecting the work... but, really he is just wanting Brian to throw the ball he left betwee Brian's feet!

Speaking of feet... Nadia and I went to the spa this morning as our reward for doing the Sun Run. Yes, the reward was a bit delayed, but that's just how it worked out! Nadia got a massage and I had a pedicure... I could not help myself when I saw this fun emerald green nail polish!!

Welcome Home Tag!

Tag officially moved home with Brian and I today! His kennel is not quite set up yet, but he is here and we are so thrilled to have hime home again! Special thank you to Mom and Elliott for caring for Tag over the past 2 years. We didn't intend for it to be that long, but we are so grateful that they were able to take him for us!

Concrete for Tag's Kennel

Brian and I have been shopping for concrete pavers for the last few weeks and found it to be ridiculously expensive new and difficult to find it for cheap used. Mom knew of a place we could get 'seconds' that would be better priced. Turns out it was only $1 per square foot... perfect!! Mom picked it up and brought it to our house, then Brian helped unload them (they are super heavy). Mom and I then headed back to Abbotsford to dismantel the kennel and then head back to Langley again to drop it off (this time Elliott joined us). Thanks again Mom!

Have you seen our yard lately?

As everyone knows, we moved into a construction zone just over a year ago... it still is a construction zone but its looking way better. This is the side of the house where Tag's kennel is going.
Here is the side of our deck... the deck and fencing is all done and is awesome to sit out on. Special thanks to Doug (Brian's Dad) for his old patio set! It is being well used!
Here is a view of the back yard... the grass is growing and plants are sitting there ready to be planted. Unfortunately, this won't be for us... we have the sand pit! Haha...
Here is our sand pit... however, Brian and I are cleaning it up. Tag's Kennel is going in right where the wheelbarrow is and this evening I pulled out most of the weeds along the fence. I think we may try and plant some grass. Our landlord isn't planning on doing anything with this side of the house, so we probably will just clean it up.

Playing with Elliott's Camera

I have a wedding coming up next weekend that I am photographing. After asking Brian's sister Lorissa to assist me, I realized I would need a second camera. Elliott has generously agreed to lend me his so I can give Lorissa mine. I have had his camera all week and finally today I started playing with it and all the lenses. Elliott has the same camera as me, just 2 models newer. He also has some pretty fancy lenses that I am having way too much fun with. Here are a few shots from me playing in the back yard.

I know this picture isnt super thrilling but... its the palm tree in our back yard and it is sprouting a flower!! I can't wait to see what it looks like... I will post it once it happens!

I did this shot with a macro lens at F2.8 which I have been dying to try since I knew it existed. Basically it allows you to shoot pictures up super close and focus in on specific areas. The picture above is the same as the one below except for the one above I focused on the inner part of the flower and the one below I focused on the tip of the petal closest to me. Amazing how precise this lens is!!
