Training with Kona

Kona and I have been training for my upcoming run with Nadia in a few weeks. I am definitley not where I used to be with running... haven't had the time to train but am trying to get back into it again. The waterfront in Peachland is the perfect place for a peaceful run in the mornings with Kona!

I have taken a few videos of Kona chasing a laser pointer that Mom gave us... not only does she love chasing the laser, she loves watching herself chasing the laser too! Silly puppy!

Cali's First Bus Ride to School

I got up bright and early over at Dad's so I could rush off to see Cali take her first School Bus ride by herself to school!

She made it to her line up outside her class just fine.... better than that other unhappy child! haha

Then we got to take Sophie to her first hour of Pre-School alone! Oh boy did she scream and cry! After the hour was up, we went to the Cactus club for some lunch!

We decided to share appies for lunch as there didn't seem to be anything 'normal' on the menu to order!

Back at the house we got to play with some play-doh! Sophie showed me how to make a roll with your hands... pretty impressive!

A picnic with Cali

I came out for a visit to Abbotsford to see the family and decided to take Cali out since I wouldn't get a chance to see her otherwise! We went and got McDonald's and went to the park across from Dad's place. That girl has energy! Play Play Play

After we finished at the park we decided to go see "Mommy" at work since it was just down the street. We got to play basket ball and volleyball in the gym on Julie's break. Lots of fun!!

Bathroom Reno 95% Complete!

The main bathroom in our house is almost completed... Brian just needs to put in new electrical plugs and light switches. Eventually we will get a new sink/counter, but for now getting rid of the mustard color is a huge step in the right direction! Thank you to Andy Bet & Uncle Donald for the gift card that purchased the shower curtain, Nadia for the gift card that purchased the bathmat and Julie, Greg & the girls for supplies and paint at Home Depot! We love the way the house is coming along... all these little changes are making the house our own!

Frog on the deck

I found a tiny frog on our deck... glad I found him before Kona did or she would probably torture him a bit before eating him... I just took his picture, cute little thing!

Dogs at the Beach

After a long summer of wedding craziness... we realized we hadn't taken the dogs to the beach for a swim yet during the summer! Time to get out there before it gets too cold again!

Apple Harvest... in our back yard!

Our apples are finally ready. I learned from the neighbor that when the seeds are brown, that's when they are ready to pick! They are MacIntosh apples, but we call them Kona's apples because she loves them so much. Having an apple tree is a treat and a curse... great to have your own fresh apples, but a huge problem if you don't have people to give them too... so far I have given to the neighbor, the ladies at work and am taking some to Abbotsford for the family. Unfortunately, we don't have a ladder yet to pick the ones higher up...

Weather...

I always knew the Okanagan had a lot of interesting weather, but I never really knew how different it was until living here. Someone called it a micro climate... depending on where you are, you can have totally different weather than someone else down the hill, across the lake or up the mountain. I love the days that are sunny, no clouds and then it just starts pouring rain for 10 minutes then disappears... there is thunder and lightning here that is unlike anything I have seen or heard... then, there are the rainbows... we get a lot of them, but I have never seen 2 at a time like this! 

More Truck...

We just love the new truck... its everything we hoped it would be. Here are a few more pictures now that I had a chance to take a few more!

We bought a new truck! I could go over all the reasons for moving up from Brian's Ranger, but that's boring. We got a 2012 F150 that is automatic and I can drive it!! Yippie! Anyhow, Brian is pretty excited, its a really great truck, I am sure everyone will like it!
